I get asked what to wear for photo shoots all the time, and I don’t want to tell you what to wear but I would love help guide you in the right direction.
Tip #1: Think Layers – Think Simple and sweet. For your son maybe a fun hat (bowler, fedora or stylish ball cap), or for your little girl, leggings, a skirt, tank top with a cardigan or sweet and a simple headband. And for mom, maybe a fun colorful scarf.
Tip #2: Coordinating – As you think about your color platte, imagine your family being one complete piece of artwork. Instead of everyone wearing the same shade of blue, think about what accent colors may look nice with that blue shirt that mom is wearing. Yes, we want to coordinate, but do not confuse that with being overly matching. I always suggest to choose 3-4 colors and try to incorporate those colors together.
Tip #3: Head to Toe – Remember to dress down to you and your family’s feet. Your feet will be in photos and you want to make sure your outfit looks great top to bottom.
Tip #4: Be Comfortable – If your child hates wearing vests or a dress or whatever it may be, don’t make them wear that. They will be uncomfortable and unhappy. Let your children help in their outfit selection. This will get them excited for the photos!
Tip#5: I Am Here For You – If you want to send me photos of your outfits I can help guide you in the right direction. I am very honest so if you ask me my opinion I will give it to you.
